Luis Esguerra Cifuentes
Bogotá, 1995. Graduated in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia, and Social Communication and Journalism, from Universidad de La Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia). Between 2017 and 2018 he worked as programming assistant for the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival FICCI and, from 2018 to 2020, he served as programming coordinator at the Bogota International Film Festival BIFF.
In 2019 he founded the production and distribution house Bruma Cine, which manages the exhibition rights of the most emblematic titles of Colombian filmmaker Luis Ospina and, in turn, develops different programming projects. He has curated the exhibitions Creer en lo que no se ha revelado: Retrospectiva integral y obra inédita de Luis Ospina and Reconstrucciones: Free adaptations in the Ibero-American short film.
Lo espeso, his first experimental short film, was screened at international film festivals in Brazil, Spain and Mexico, among other countries. La noche desbarata mis sombras, his most recent film, has been presented at festivals such as the 31st São Paulo Curta Kinoforum International Short Film Festival and the 42nd Havana Film Festival. It also received the award for best experimental short film at the 18th In the Palace International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria.
